A flexible and proven system, providing a reliable means for Rating, Invoicing and Reporting call traffic.QBILLED has been designed as a generic system with the ability to add additional features to support specific customer requirements. It can be operated on a day-to-day basis by non-technical users.
QBILLED comprises three components: a Rating engine, an Invoicing engine and a Customer and Contract Maintenance application.
The QBILLED Rating engine has the ability to rate:
- Wholesale calls
- Indirect Access Services (IDA) calls (using element based charging for ingress costs)
- Premium rate calls (also known as Access Service for Third Party (ASTP) calls)
Key features of the QBILLED Rating engine include:
- Exception reporting and re-processing;
- Re-rating – automatic detection of when re-rates are required, for example for retrospective rate changes;
- Margin analysis – enabling the profitability of routes to be measured and controlled;
- Least Cost Routing (LCR) analysis - used to ensure the cheapest and most reliable refiler rates are utilised.
Key features of the QBILLED Invoicing engine are:
- Flexible n-daily or n-monthly billing capability integrated with rating engine;
- Credit notes – ability to generate credits against an existing invoice or ad-hoc;
- Ad-hoc invoices – ability to create invoices as and when they are required, without waiting for the next bill run;
- Enquiry functions – ability to search for invoices on a number of criteria, such as customer, date, product;
- Reports – various management reports such as invoice summary report;
- Delivery options – invoices are generated as PDF files and automatically sent to customers via email.
The QBILLED Customer and Contract Maintenance application enables the maintenance of:
- Refiler/Customer details - including address and credit limits
- Contracts and Services - including contact details, billing and payment details and product/service options
- Trunk groups – maintaining the relationship between points of interconnect and switches
- ASTP numbers – mapping ASTP dialled numbers to contracts
- Call Charge Rates – either wholesale tariffs (held by destination and period) or national tariffs (EBC-based)
- Destinations – maintenance of number ranges for national and international destinations.
- Countries - country Names and their (primary) international dialling code.
- Currency conversion rates – currencies with a conversion rate to the base currency. This is used to generate reports in base currency.
